MANDATORY CONCERT UPDATE OF OMFG!!!!!
Overdue concert update, because YES. FUCK CUTS!!!! So sorry guys, it just must be done...

So Friday night was AWESOME, which was expected, but ooohhh goooosh!! Words cannot describe!!! FUCK!!!!!
Kate was done work and her and I headed out to grab some foods before hitting the highway. We went to the OC and grabbed some teriyaki, but I couldn't finish mine, as always. We finally got on the highway at 5:30pm, and played some VNV Nation on the way, until we finished my CD and then we put on other stuff. Yadda yadda, I'll skip the quirky details of the drive.
Arrived an hour and a half early at the Phoenix Concert Centre, This was our first time ever seeing the place, and boooy did it ever look small and "dinjy". SMALL venure was small. There was no one outside, except a few passerby's and a creepy dude trying to buy tickets (most likely to resell them to make profit, oi). Parking was close, across the street, which was super awesome, but after reading a sign on the venue door we realised that once people exited the building, there was no way back in. I asked if they had a place to hang coats and they did, so all was good anyways. Kate and I walked around the place, chilled, squeed with happy, and then got in line. FIRST IN LINE OMFG!!!! Later on, we were joined by the next dudes in line and we chatted with them. One dude came all the way from Germany and said he was only closeby because of his work, and found out VNV was gonna be around and drove over..... from Michigan!! XD He said he saw them before like 8 other times and they were wicked. The line ended up getting bigger, and then a few minutes after 8pm, doors opened. We hung our coats up and browsed the different rooms. There was the main room/dance hall, and a smaller room across the way where a bit of merch was being sold, plus some comfy seating.
After viewing the merch room, Kate and I hung out in the main room, grabbed some drinks, and listened to the various unknown EBM trance techo whatever music playing on the main speakers. Kate got some Smirdoff vodka whatever drinks and I got a bottle of water, but I also tried some of Kate's alcohol, which wasn't so bad.It was about 9 or 9:30pm when the opening band came on. It was sorta funny, one of the bands members was on stage prepping the music on his Mac, but we weren't sure he was one of the musicians or not. Apperently he claimed he was nomming a sandwich at the time too, which he said later on. During the entire concert, when both bands played, Kate and I stood close to the front of the stage, more over by the side. Awesome vision of the stage.
The opening band was called Straftanz, and Kate and I were blown away. Straftanz is a newer band and I've never heard of them before, but HOLY FUCK THEY WERE AMAZING!!!! I felt like I went crazy. The band did a WICKED job at starting off and getting the crowd going. Kate and I danced the fuck out, and participated in the usual croud actions, like throwing our fists in the air, shouting shit, cheering. Straftanz played about 5 songs, then ended their session, saying they would be chillin' out in the merch room so if anyone wanted to come meet them afterwards they could. XD
We had to wait about half an hour to an hour before VNV were ready to come on. They started at about 10:30pm, and blew the fuck out of everything when they began. Ronan came out, totally pumped, and the whole room was SCREAMING!!! They began their show with Chrome, which ZOMG LOVE THAT SONG!! So we saaang along, haha!! After that, most of the details get blurred. There were giant screens in the back that flashed various images and stuff, giant speakers that played amazing bass and sound. Oh gosh. I think I was filled with a euphoria, I just had this giant smile plastered on my face while watching them, dancing, cheering/yelling, waving my hands in the air. It felt perfect.
After about 5 or 6 songs in, the bad shit started to come. Yea, there was some bad shit. 8C At that point I had been standing for so long, and dancing, and my feet were KILLING ME. They hurt so fucking bad, I had to do me best to just hold on and deal with it. At one point I thought I couyldn't hold on any longer, so I tried going to the back of the room to find a place to sit down and rest, but moving to the back of the hall was pretty much impossible!! There was just too many people, it was too hard. I came back, and then decided to go off to the side closeby and lean on this railing that was there. I was not only in pain but finding it sorta hard to breath, which I guessed was just because I was moving around so much and because it was so hot, due to many dancing people. I was able to grab some cool air, but the feet pain didn't seem to let up. I tried to sit down on the floor, because I was so desperate, but I couldn't stay there for so long cause it just felt yuck. I ended up getting up and going back over to Kate, and tried to continue. I'm not sure how many songs in it was, but they began to play one of their newer songs called "Control", and the lights on stage began to flash with the music. I swear this shit could cause seizures man!! Then I felt so sick. I was in unbearable pain from my feet, my stomach area hurt from dancing, my chest hurt for unknown reasons, and I felt light-headed. I realised that if I didn't leave the concert hall I could potentially faint and cause some serious problems. I turned to Kate and told her I had to leave and sit down. Soooo, I did just that and Kate stayed behind, which was fine cause I wanted her to! I went to the merch hall and sat down on the super comfy sofa things, and even took my shoes off and put my feet up to make them feel better. Straftanz lead singer was there chilling and talking to a few people, but I wasn't in the mood to talk with him at the moment, lol.
I rested a bit and began to feel better. I put my shoes back on and went over to look at the merch. The merch that I wanted was VNV Nation's newest CD Automatic, Straftanz's CD (those were the only CD's they were offering), plus I was interested in a VNV black hoodie. I chatted a bit with the dealer and he said I should buy them asap, cause the room was gonna get busy after the concert was over, and items might get sold out. I bought both CD's then, but didn't have enough for a hoodie. I went back to the concert and over to Kate, and told her about how it may be a good idea to get our merch then. We came out and back to the merch area, and bought our stuff. Kate was kind enough to lend me money for a hoodie!! We sat down and rested more, and Kate said her knee hurt like a huge fuck, lol.
That was sadly the end of the concert for us. We were both in so much pain, we couldn't muster the energy to go back in for the rest. Although we could hear the concert from the merch room anyways, and we totally BAW'd when we heard "Perpetual" play, haha. We DID wanna go back, but we just hurt too much. SO instead we talked to Straftanz!! IT WAS AWESOME!!! We got both our CD's signed by them, AND HUGS FROM THEM TOO!! IT WAS THE BEST EVER!!!!

So yea, chilled with them dudes, chilled in general in the merch room until 12:30 when the concert finished. We chilled and chatted with Straftanz until we were pretty much the LAST ones there, not even exagerating. Kate was exhausted and I admit, I was REALLY HOPING Ronan would come out so we could meet him, since if that happened it would have TOTALLY made up for missing the last hour of his concert. Missing out on a huge hunk was such a shit, and it made me feel soo sad and guilty. However, deep down, I knew that not going back it was the best thing to do. After all, I was in shit-pain, and I knew that if I fainted, it would have turned VERY bad. The thing is.... I have fainted/blacked out before, back when I was in high school. I had to stand for such a long time, because it was for an assignment we were doing, and I fell backwards and smucked my head on the floor, and then was just like uhhhh..? After that happened, the whole class worried for me and possibly almost called the hospital, but instead I had to go home. The feeling I felt during the time at the concert reminded me of the situation that happened at school. To be honest, if I HAD fainted/blacked out at the concert, they WOULD have called the ambulance, Roan most likely would have stopped played, and it would have fucked up the whole concert/show, and tons of people would be worried or pissed at me, and it just would have been awkward and BAD BAD BAD!!! I truely didn't wanna leave, but it was the best thing for me to do.
A few days later, I found something out that may have helped trigger my ill feeling. I was talking to Kate about the whole concert, and she mentioned that the possible reason I felt so shitty, besides for my feet, was that the dude standing right next to us.... was smoking marihuana. 8[ Wow. I thought about it and remembered smelling weed/marihuana, but I thought that it was because it was smoked by someone BEFORE entering the concert hall, and I was just smelling the after scent. But no. The dude beside me was kneeling down every now and then, and Kate says it was because he was sneaking fucking puffs. She also saw various joints being passed around in a few places too, so a bunch of people attending the concert were sneaking the shit in there. It made sense. So that means I guess the scent of fresh mary-jane makes me feel light-headed and WOOZY when I inhale it in large doses. O___o' Good lord, I unknowingly got HIGH!!! *facepalm* It was shitty though. XC
After all that, at the very end, we gave up on the slight chance/hope of meeting Roan, grabbed our coats and left. We were starving so when we got glose to home, we stopped by Denny's, but it was PACKED, and they were so incredibly short-staffed, I felt bad for them. Kate was dead-ass exhausted so I told her we could leave, or else it would take forever, and I didn't want that on her. She dropped me off at home, and I stayed up till over 7:00am, had a nice giant BATH, cooked some nice not soup and creamy cheese bagel, and did stuff online, then slept sooooo nice!! XD
And that's that. Despite the bad parts, overall it was so fucking amazing, I don't care my feet died and I got high. It was a wonderful time, and I swear that I'll go see VNV Nation again when they come back to Toronto!!! I LOVED THEM!!! And I swear I'll see the WHOLE fucking concert next time too!!!
