Actually, this is something of a fallacy. Zombies rarely actually eat brains; they're mostly just concerned with killing the living, like most mindless undead.

Then why'd that one that attacked me try to eat my brain? I know it did, it bit my head!

Consider: If a zombie successfully cracked open your skull open, you'd die, right?

It wasn't trying to *eat* your brains, just open your head up. I doubt that had it been successful it'd have done much else than go looking for someone else to kill. If one of your arms was relatively loose, it'd have torn it off to use as a makeshift club, maybe.
