THIS SHIT IS BANANAS. O-U-R-A-BANANAS

Sep 28, 2006 09:12

The episode opens with Haruhi getting ready to leave her house without eating breakfast- but quickly flashes to something any of us care about, the host club the day after episode 25. Éclair is talking to Kyouya about how much debt Haruhi owes. After a few minutes, Kyouya calls Haruhi, saying Éclair has requested her.

Éclair: You're a very important person to Tamaki, aren't you?
Haruhi: Is this jealousy?
Éclair: Oh? You know I'm the one who ordered Tamaki to stay away from the host club.

Meanwhile! The twins are against doing any work if the club will be dissolved tomorrow, and don't warm up to the idea when Kyouya tells them keep the customers happy. jhfkd so Honey and Mori jump the twins and drag them away. Kyouya goes back to Haruhi

Kyouya: Just now, Éclair’s paid off you entire debt.
Haruhi:
Kyouya: You can stop being a host at any time.

[Title screen!]

Kyouya's father waltzes over with his entourage to have a dig at Kyouya one last time. He says a lot about the club being useless and a waste of Kyouya's time, which makes Haruhi talk back. She snaps that Kyouya is in the Host Club to make people happy- is that something worthless? Kyouya's father takes off without answering, be mentions to his posse that Kyouya's talked about this scholarship student before.

FOR SOME REASON NOW WE SEE ECLAIR IN THE SHOWER. Suou and Suou Nana discuss wtf is going on, and it's revealed that grandma is in fact, orchestrating this little engagement (uh. duh.) She says a union between the Suou and Tonnerre family will be beneficial to everyone, since Tamaki will get to see his mother just for bringing together two powerful, wealthy families. "Someone will pay for your mistakes," she tells him.

Tamaki is off playing piano while Éclair exits the shower and we get a brief bit of cuddling before Tamaki's phone goes off. Éclair grabs it before Tamaki can and sees that its the Host Club calling for him. The scene cuts back to Haruhi and Éclair’s conversation.

Éclair: Are you Tamaki's lover?
Haruhi: No, I'm not.
Éclair: Oh? That's good. You're not a close person to him.
Haruhi: I'm not his lover. But that doesn't mean I'm not a person who isn't close to him.

Éclair drops the ringing mobile into the fish tank.

Éclair: Since you can't be with the Host Club, don't you think it's better not to talk to them?

At this point, KYOUYA'S DAD just waltz in all business, which clearly unnerves Tamaki, who starts apologizing for forcing Kyouya into the host Club. Ootori doesn't seem to give a shit about this right now, and informs the couple brusquely that the Tonnere company has bought out the Ootori business. Therefore, Kyouya won't be inheriting the company, no matter how hard he tries. While Tamaki listens with dawning horror, Éclair requests that maybe now their Ootori family could do something for her.

The scene changes to The rest of the Host Club, all dressed up as French aristocracy. Haruhi's donning a full wig and dress and complaining all the while. The twins are trying to convince her that it's just cosplay, so she shouldn't make a big deal about it, but she does anyway. Meanwhile, Kyouya tries over and over again to reach Tamaki on his mobile.

The club is concerned that Tamaki doesn’t answer, so Kyouya irritably tries the second mansion where Tamaki lives. The old maid answers and tells him that Bocchama has left for France already. Apparently, the Suou family has pardoned his mother and Tamaki's felt guilty about forcing the Host Club on the others. Kyouya says that kind of shit is stupid and tells the Host Club, who appropriately freak out. Hikaru won't believe it and starts shouting, Kaoru phases out and tries to calm him down and Haruhi sits there.

Maid: I don't think leaving Ouran like this is the sort of thing that would make Tamaki's mother happy. At that moment, a speeding convertible drives underneath the window-- Tamaki! Kyouya doesn't waste time and orders everyone to go after him, snapping Haruhi from her reverie.

[COMMERCIAL BREAK. SHIT IS ABOUT TO GO BANANAS]

The Host club races through the garage, but Kyouya can't get the Ootori driver to take them in the car. They're suddenly surrounded by Ootori's police force (Hikaru protectively pushes Haruhi behind him) who inform Kyouya that his father's ordered them not to interfere. KYOUYA SMASHES HIS FIST INTO THE CAR HOOD, but they aren't intimidated. Well not until motherfucking Mori and Honey race in with the carriage from episode 25 and start whooping ass. Hikaru and Kaoru scramble up onto the carriage to use that to go after Tamaki, but Haruhi hesitates. Kyouya takes her by the shoulders and says "Haruhi, that idiot- please-" and shove sher up onto the carriage. The twins take off, leaving Mori and Honey to easily sweep up the police. "Haruhi," Kyouya thinks. "I trust that idiot to you."

The twins and Haruhi race along a dirt road that's alongside the highway. Kaoru starts to freak out that Hikaru is going too fast to control the carriage (they mention in episode 25 Hikaru is only just getting better at driving) and Hikaru snaps at Kaoru. "I absolutely won't lose Tono!" He says because of the host club they've met Haruhi and been able to be nice to other people. That isn't something he's just going to give up.

UNFORTUNATELY! Hikaru is driving the carriage too fast, or something, because the horses buck forward and pitch Hikaru into a nearby pumpkin patch (HEY SHIT! I JUST GOT THAT SYMBOLISM). Kaoru, naturally, flips a shit and rushes after his brother, who clutches to him in pain, agonizing that they can't catch up to Tono now. Haruhi watches from the carriage, flashing back to her conversation with her father from the beginning of the episode.

They talk about Haruhi's mother and he tells her, "Please try hard, and don't hesitate."

The opening riff of Shisshou starts to play and Haruhi stares after the twins. Fluidly, she takes off her wig and the heavy dress portion of the costume and jumps into the driver's seat of the carriage. "Haruhi?" Hikaru asks before the girl cracks the reins, taking off after the car.

The couple to be is seated in the back of the convertible and Éclair seems to start to tease Tamaki for his silence.

Éclair: What's wrong? You're so quiet. As a host, shouldn't you try and be more fun?
Tamaki: Getting married to someone you just met, is that really all right with you?

OF COURSE THEN, HARUHI APPEARS, veering onto the street just behind the car as they start to cross a bridge. Naturally, Tamaki is beside himself from the danger as Éclair gapes after the pursuing girl.

Tamaki: Haruhi, what are you doing!? It's dangerous, pull over!
Haruhi: Tamaki, you can't leave!
Tamaki: It's fine, just pull over!
Haruhi: No one wants you to leave the Host Club!
Tamaki: I.. I've made trouble for Kyouya and everyone else.
Haruhi: .. You idiot. You big idiot. Are you really so stupid that you can't tell when someone's joking or being serious!
Tamaki:
Haruhi: Everyone loves the Host Club!
Haruhi: Everyone really loves the Host Club!
Haruhi: I.. [reaches out for Tamaki's hand] I really love the Host Club too.

Tamaki stares and starts to reach after Haruhi, but Éclair stops him.

BUT THE HORSES SEEM TO TRIP AGAIN and the carriage veers sharply to the left, hitting the edge of the bridge. Haruhi slips and starts to fall backwards from the bridge and Éclair sadly releases Tamaki, who leaps after the girl.

Tamaki: Now look what's happened, you're all wet.
Haruhi: A handsome man's skin shines like water. [the line Tamaki used when he got wet in the fountain to help her get her books, episode 1.]

The rest of the Host Club waves from the edge of the shore, calling to Tamaki. Kyouya smiles in relief, calling the president an idiot while Éclair looks on from the bridge. As they drive away, the driver muses about how their maid always talks about having a son who played the piano. Éclair thinks Tamaki is very foolish to give up a chance to see his mother. She flashes back to just before Tamaki leapt from the bridge, looking to her and saying, "thank you." Even still, she thinks, she'll remember the way he smiled for her.

Cut to the Ouran festival, where everyone is dancing outside of the school. Haruhi is still dressed like a girl for some reason(??) she dances with each of the boys in turn, though not long with Hikaru, who's arm is in a sling. She's eventually led over to Tamaki- but Kyouya snatches her up for a dance before Tamaki can. There appropriate whining and hissyfits while up above the festival, in the superintendent’s office, Kyouya and Tamaki's fathers discuss the purchasing of the Ootori corp. It turns out just before Tonnerre bought out the company, a mysterious figure named "K.O" outbid the french family. Turn out, K.O was Kyouya, who bought the company back for him family (assuming this is with help from Haruhi's debt being paid off). Kyouya's dad is now considerately warmed to the prospect of letting his third son inherit the family business. He attributes that change in Kyouya's resolve to Kyouya's having met Tamaki. Kyouya's dad suggests they become friends like their sons.

Just as Haruhi and Tamaki begin to dance, fireworks start to go off over the school and everyone stops the watch. Back in the room, Ootori says he wouldn't mind being friends with the man, so long as Haruhi gets to be Kyouya's wife. Suou retracts his offer.

As the Host Club watches the fireworks, Tamaki's original speech about the objective of Host Club is played and the interior of the school is shown off. Once again we're at the doorway to the third music room, which opens to reveal the Host Club, Haruhi at the center. She asks the viewer to come in and play with them, if they'd like. They'll be waiting to serve you.

AHH I AM EMOTIONALLY BARREN. BONES WILL NOT MAKE A SECOND SEASON AFTER THIS. BUT SHIT I THOUGHT. GOD. THIS SHIT IS BANANAS. DEATH NOTE CANNOT COMPARE TO THIS. I WASN'T SURE WE WOULD ALL MAKE IT OUT ALIVE FOR FUCKS SAKE
