Hey.
It's been a while.
Our computate sort of went snap, crackle, pop.
Well. Sort of.
Reality might be slightly less exciting.
When we tried to press the power button, the little green light that indicates whether life hums within this crappy piece of machinery sort of flickered on for a split second & then withered away.
Hmm...
The reason: Adam gave this little contraption more World of Warcraft than it could handle.
But anyway, my week fluctuated from day to day between lame & quite oarsum(!).
Last tues I went to see The John Butler Trio at the Enmore if my memory serves me correctly.
Jess, Nath, myself and Nath's friend Sarah went and we all had a regular funky ole time.
Gourmet Pizzas beforehand. Completely delishicous.
A group called the Custom Kings supported. V. Good, though I'm sure they were disapointed with their set.
JBT rawked. Muchly. Much better venue that the Hordern in my opinion. Smaller etc.
John-ism for that evening was "This song (Damned to Hell) is dedicated to Dick Cheney and all those Cats making money off lives, oil and death."
Other highlights:
--> John swooning at the audience and wanting to play Peaches & Cream over & over.
--> The v. good solos.
--> Percussion bit in Take is always completely amazing.
--> New songs: Nowhere Man (original one, not the Beatley one) and Funky Tonight.
--> My singing during Pick-a-part being complimented by the guy next to me. I don't doubt it was in relation to my...enthusiasm rather than talent.
Then Wednesday. Australia Day (The day they stuck a flag innit and said "it's ours!")
Spent the majority of the day at home, then Kate called and said I should go to Bens cause there we a few people around. And I did. Fun was had.
Then Thursday Kate & I went into the city. We went to the LotR exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum. Very very very awesome.
Go go go.
Even after watching the extended edition super many times, I was still blown away by the immense detail in costume and props. They also had some beautiful art work on the walls which i was praying would be available in the giftstore. But nuh.
Anyway, the best part for me was seeing the dead Boromir in his boat. He looked so damn real and I was half expecting him to start to move at any moment.
The other impressive things were Sauron and Legolas' boots and bow, as well as Arwen and Galadriel's clothing.
Then we went to the Dendy at Circular Quay (Harbour Bridge and Opera House looked impressive yet again) to see A Very Long Engagement. Still very cool the second time round.
Worked Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Was home yesterday and had a call from Shantell from work saying I should have got a payrise of $2 last march when I turned 17, so they owe me about $800 (maybe more). But the thing is, I was going to give my notice this week, my boss is on vacation so I have to wait til he gets back next week and I'm not even sure if I'm going to get the money. They don't have to pay me because I'm above award. They should. Even if I am leaving.
