Just reviewed the content of a discussion board for one of my courses, when this little gem caught my eye:
"they sold 300 copies for 1/5 of the regular price. So thats more than 75% saving, if my math is right."
Can anyone see what the problem is? This person, despite four years of university level education, doesn't know that 1/5 of something is 20%. This person is in my program. What the hell is wrong with education, that a person who doesn't know basic, entry level math can get this far with a bachelor of technology degree!?
