(no subject)

So I sent a longish letter to the professor I mentioned two posts ago. His midterm was exactly what I feared, a collection of questions about the particulars of specific programs, which I regard as extremely short-lived information. At first I got a typical brush off answer: "Everyone is entitled to opinions, I'll take it under consideration, please feel free to meet with me."

The brush-off got me a little annoyed, so my reply mentioned discussing solutions. Now he's annoyed.

"Please note that I am more than happy to sit down to discuss your concerns, but I don't want to mislead you into thinking that the meeting is to discuss changing the course. While I believe that everybody is entitled to opinions, keep in mind that opinions are subject to biases, and must be reviewed for validity. To suggest we need to sit down to discuss solutions implies there is a problem. That is not something that has been determined yet."

I'll be visiting his sign-up sheet tomorrow. If I still can't get a straight answer out of him about my (I think) very legitimate questions, I'll raise them in class. He won't brush me off in front of 80 other people. I don't want to have to take a step like that, but I really do think this course is a waste of time.
