Sudoku
For those who know what Sudoku is, I've been trying to prepare myself for a contest, with a prize of $300 for first place and other prices for 2nd and 3rd. Basically need to be the fastest to finish 6 lv4 Sudoku sets. Only 6 people get to play in the finals. To get to the finals, you have to finish 6x lv3 Sudoku sets in 30minutes or less, and if there's less than 6 people that could do that, then the 6 highest times get to play.
For those that do play, doing a lv3 Sudoku in an average of 5 minutes is very hard. My fastest time for any ever has been 10minutes, and I average about 15-20min if I honestly try hard. I'm far from feeling confident that I can do 6 lv3s in 30minutes. The contest is in less than 2 weeks. 5min seems nearly impossible, but I'm sure there are people that can do it. But hey, my goal is to get one of the three prizes if I find myself feeling confident in the next week of practice. Most likely, I won't bother going, since I'm at the point of pulling my hair and stuff. Prize money either goes to school debts or the PS3 when it comes out =D.
Who here does play it from time to time at least? For those that don't know it, look it up online and you'll find an example easy. It's basically a grid of numbers where you figure out and fill in the blanks that have only 1 correct solution.
