I ran across this on FB and remembered the first time I went shopping with a friend of the opposite gender. Laurie & I had been bio lab partners @ AJHS - she was also the only friend of mine from school who came to my mom's funeral. Some years later she was in veterinary studies @ Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine. I was working in Carroll County for a few weeks. I stayed with Laurie in a house with other friends. This was back in the day that, if you knew where to look, you could see Skylab streaking across the sky at night in about twenty seconds from horizon to horizon (OK, are you scratching your head and thinking "Skylab????" ;)
Anyway - there was a certain je ne sais quoi about walking down the aisles of a grocery store sharing a cart with my friend - I wish we were more in touch.
