My Brother Jonathan . . . the only reason I know this is a film title is that my friend in Ireland referenced it after i had referred to "my brother Jonathan" in letters. I hope he has a good holiday weekend. He's married to his junior high school sweetheart, has three great kids - Megan Ammi just got married last summer - and last month he had his gallbladder out. From the imaging prior to that operation, and during the operation it became apparent something hinky was going on with his spleen - like, structures around it that shouldn't be there. Earlier this month he had a 5 hour operation to remove the spleen et cetera. Path results were supposed to be back the other day, but the lab waffled, saying the results were indeterminate and they're farming the tissue out to Philadelphia. The only data I have is that something's awry with the T-calls and his PSA level is in the teens. I'm not so worried about the latter, but it looks like Lynch syndrome may have caught up with my brother, as it has with two of our three sisters. Megan was tested today. I'm gonna wait to see the results of my latest colonoscopy before I do any gazing into the genetic pool, as it were . . .
