to look past the aesthetic

Sep 10, 2006 23:40

i need inspiration
to look past the aesthetic and manifest some observable emotional depth in a work.

all of my 2d thinking goes into screenprinting ideas, approaches etc.
as such, i'm entirely unprepared for color intaglio. it is possibly the one thing furthest from my aesthetic goals.

i could execute a screen idea on copper, but to what end? it'd be basic photographic process, and torn apart by my instructor.

all of the visual resources i've got filed away on my computer pertain to screen stuffs or otherwise purely-photographic process prints. i like them, but they won't fly this semester.

it's a frustrating impasse.
