She seduced him.

Or maybe it was the other way around.

She doesn’t really know how this came to be. He’s with the CIA while she’s a… well, all things considered, she’s a terrorist (she is a Derevko, after all).

They’re using each other, no doubt about that. But even after she had gotten what she needed from him, she can’t bring herself to break things off.

(She wonders if this is how Irina feels when she’s with Jack Bristow, but erases the thought almost immediately. This is somewhat a shallow matter as compared to her younger sister’s dilemma)

She takes a glance at the sleeping figure beside her. He’s a widower, with two children, those things she knows from the files she has. But she also discovers that he’s a sweet man, who likes sushi and rain showers and has a deep-timbre voice that she finds so pleasant and sexy at the same time.

Quietly, she slips off the bed and goes to the bathroom to shower and dress up.

It’s been her general rule to ditch a man once she’s realized that she’s developed affection for him. Fondness has always been her precursor for a mad dash to the nearest exit, and she knows that she’s getting too fond of Marcus Dixon.

She’s spent only a few months with the man, but she knows that at the core, he is a good man.

All the more reason to stop this.

Steam begins to fill the room as the hot water pounds her skin.

She decides to break everything off-the next time they see each other.

He’s alone in the bed when he wakes up.

It doesn’t surprise him. He rarely wakes up in the morning with her in the bed (and vice-versa). Their relationship (if you can call it that) is something that will put him and his children at risk, if it gets discovered.

Which is why it’s ridiculous that he’s letting it continue, even when he has gotten all he needed from her. He doesn’t know what it is that makes him go back to her. He can’t understand it. For one thing, she’s a little too crazy for his taste. But maybe that’s the reason why he can’t seem to let go. She’s too damn interesting.

He lies on the bed and stares at the ceiling.

He now knows why Jack can’t seem to break away from Irina Derevko; whatever she has, Katya Derevko has.

He shakes his head and discards the idea away. This is a wholly different matter.

Marcus Dixon pushes himself off the bed and picks up his clothes, which are scattered on the floor.
