Misanthropy

So I was supposed to get this job with Titan Tech this summer. I kept emailing my former teacher (who suggested it to me in the first place) asking when it started, etc, and I finally got a message back saying that the job was "NOW", call the number I got in "the letter". I was confused, having recieved no letter. It did arrive, but late, and just before I was supposed to leave town for three days for this wedding. I called when I came back and was told "the positions have been filled, but a few of the workers stopped showing up" or something similar- the woman was supposed to call me back this morning and tell me whether or not there was a position open, but surprise, she didn't.

This and other things have made me hate people lately. They don't care. They're not dependable; many are so ignorant and half-illiterate but blindly push their views anyway... most seem to have a real cruel streak if you look hard enough. I'm 19. Most people I'm halfway aquainted with my age don't seem to care at all about morality or what's right; they just give in to whatever momentary animal urge strikes them. Oh, and somehow sensing the Titan thing is about to fall through my parents called me out tonight and gave a long-ish lecture on what a waste my life is right now and demanded I get a job, go out into society, etc. For whatever reason having the respect of those around me is important. It's painful to see what they think things are like. Today's been a real downer compared to most others lately.
