"Such a shame that I wouldn't know by now

Your revelations

Cut me in

I don't want to live without

Your revelations,"  - "Revelations," Audioslave, 2006

We are so close now, the finish line is in sight.  The predicted, but most likely false, announcement of December 11 was just a warm up for the tech still to come.  Flooding in CA and excessive snow have again brought the urgency to the First World, for a change.  The future catastrophe is still unwritten and can be changed, but the migrants affected by climate and violence are already lining up at the border. Seeing us across the finish line will take all of our efforts, both large and small.  The release of the Lost Century film will wake many up to the story of the last 22 years, but it will still not solve the problem.  They will just be filled with the same angst and will clamor, in endless conflict, for a quicker solution.

Perhaps I have learned nothing about detachment? One gets that detachment does not equal apathy, but is instead much, much, deeper. Perhaps this mind is once again become ensnared in samsara / maya, worldly illusion, thinking this matters. Perhaps one's own samskaras, or past, can never be cleansed.  "... Doubting once he had a cause," "In the Meanwhile," 8 fingered jakob, 1999.   No, it must matter this time because this mind became part of the story before it even became truly conscious.  The answer lies in detached action without regard to the fruits, nishkama karma yoga as explained here:

The Ancient Science of Karma:

Sri Ramakrishna warned us in around 1884 that karma yoga is an extremely difficult path, and that bhakti yoga was an easier path during this time period in human history, the Kali Yuga.  One must thank God each and every day for the gift of kriya yoga, along with very practical instructions, in that it is a perfect fusion and advancement of the two.

Despite working at only 75% of my personal capacity, somehow all the legal cases continue to remain on track.  This is a lesson in humility and ego for sure!

"Then I'll get on my knees and pray, we don't get fooled again," "Won't Get Fooled Again" The Who, 1978

"You can look a hurricane right in the eye ...

So come pull a sheet over my eyes, so I can sleep tonight, despite what I've seen today, ... " "Wide Awake," Audioslave, 2006
