A lot of things have been happening lately that have made me really start looking forward to waking up in the morning. Not that i really didnt before, but now its more of a treat and less of a chore. First off I found out today that they are looking for a position for me at Harris that would not only be full time (40 hours) but also include a pay raise and benefits, finally. As of right now i don't get sick time, ie, if im not here, and im sick, i don't get paid. While that sucks, i don't think it will be like that for much longer. I will also get to slow down the work on desktop support (basically fixing windows problems all day or doing various tasks associated with pcs) and moving more towards coding which i prefer greatly to this monotony.
I also found out that Lynne, the same co-worker who took Tommy and I to Haiti last fall is going back in about a month or so and offered to take us both again. I really enjoy traveling and the fact i probably get to help out some more new people is always a treat. This time around it will only be for a weekend like fri-mon sort of thing unlike last time which was a little over a week. I'll have a chance to replenish my haitian rum stock which has dwindled to one bottle and also see a different part of the country it looks like as we are not going to the same place this time. Still waiting to hear back from her today with more details such as when, where, and if we are even going since it hasn't been completely set as plans yet.
Tommy and i are going ahead full fledged with our business venture this week as well. Sporting a few clients and hoping to add more as well as making some really kick ass business cards today at lunch. This will hopefully but some nice and easy supplemental income to maybe tuck away and save for a change. I think i spend too much sometimes but what can i say, life = expensive and all you can really do is live it.
Oh well, back to finishing this application im writing before i get moved on to bigger and better things in a couple of weeks or so they say. I know it took them at least two weeks to get the paper work done for Tommy and the position i've been told about wont even start for 2 weeks so this should be interesting. I am as of now still planning to live in orlando and commute, granted ill be spending a bit on my car to make sure it's up to the challenge of an hour drive twice a day.
Thats all for now, hope everyone else is having a good time, meeting new people, and just all around enjoying themselves.
