Match reaction under the cut..

Warning: Everything I said below is just my personal reaction as a very concerned and loyal fan of Spanish National Team. You don't have to agree with everything I said, and I don't claim to be better than Del Bosque in any way.

Hey thanks for letting me know about this, here are some opinions about the game (aka sorry about rambling in your comment box xD )

: I watched Chile vs Honduras and Chile vs Switzerland and Chile seems to play attacking, creative football. If they or Spain are dropped instead of more defensive teams , it's really a pity. I doubt Chile would park the buss, we just need to figure out how to win them.Luckily they didn't seem to play as well as Spain but they are a scary opponent, I think the game will be good. I never expected Spain's group to become "the group of death":P

Argh the team had like a million changes today and they wasted them or it just didn't work. And that penalty:P They need to work on some things, like their finishing.Sometimes they should also just shoot instead of making all kinds of complicated goal efforts xD

I think Iniesta didn't play because he isn't fully fit and imo not playing him was a right decision, he needs to rest and we have other midfielders too (damn Swiss team broke him and the ref didn't even care >:( ) Maybe him not being there will also force them to be more creative and not to rely on him so much, and it might make the opposite team more confused.

I was happy with most of the players but Torres was not very good at least yet, subbing him was a right decision. Replacing Xavi was a bit weird, but imo Fabregas played well. He almost got a goal when he came in! Silva should have perhaps played though and I'm not convinced about Busquets yet.

If Villa/Torres doesn't start working, it's good to put on a second striker who is maybe more familiar working with Villa but I really hope Nando gets better with time. I liked Navas, although he needs to work on some things, his crosses were horrible. However, he clicked well with Sergio and in general and he offered opportunities for them to play really wide like they did.

I trust del Bosque,he made effective tactical changes without changing the playing style and it seems he has planted a good atmosphere and confidence into the team (but I'm totally biased &love him so not sure if my opinion counts :D ) In the end I'm confident they can do this, they played well, managed two goals and won so now they just have to kick Chile's ass Friday (why why why is that game so far away, nerves might kill me before that)

You're welcome! And I welcome lengthy comments, it's good to hear what other fans have to say.

I agree, it would be a shame to have defensive football win over attacking football. Chile might be the toughest opponent yet, but maybe their style will sue Spain better. I'm going to watch/study the recorded Chile-Swiss game tonight!

*weeps* *nods* they broke Iniesta. And today Honduras broke a little bit of Pique too, he's really not have very good luck in this world cup! He will be a mummy if Spain reaches the final at this rate!

My biggest problem with Fabregas is that pretty much after the almost-goal, he didn't do much attack-wise. Also, his passing see a bit slappy, they were too soft so on several occasions the opponent intercepted his passes.

Busequets can be good in the midfield when he's having a good day. He really does keep the ball well, and has good chemistry with Xavi/Iniesta. However, when he makes a mistake, it is usually a goal for the other side. I would have Silva in rather than Busquets. I think him and Alonso have similar position and Alonso is better.

I hope Nando improves too. We need his height. I think he needs more confidence, and he hasn't played much last season, so I think he will only get better!

Ya, Navas and Sergio works well together, but I feel he would be more beneficial as a supersub. He has super speed, so when everyone is tired, he can come up all fresh and fast. I don't like him starting. (He's a little bit like Theo Walcott)

I really worry about Del Bosquet, so it's more comforting to see that other fans still has confidence in him. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. I always get so nervous watching the match, I don't know if I can last until Friday either! hehe.
