Another quiet saturday

So, I end up not switching shifts with my co-worker. And after all that extended, drama-filled ranting last week, too. Oh well. I still feel bad for the guy, but once I got beyond the "just feeling bad" part and looked to the possible ramifications of doing this I realized that what I felt was sympathy, not guilt. In any case, that's done with.

I'm happy to report progress in my martial arts studies. I've found a place to take tai chi classes, and although I've only been to two classes thus far I'm already learning a lot. Also, I'm going to talk to my boss to see if I can leave work half an hour early on Saturdays so that I can make it to the bagua classes down in Fairhaven. Personally, I don't think he'll mind. Here's hoping. Michael has also expressed an interest in going to the bagua classes, so for him it's just a matter of getting out of bed on time. Meanwhile, Diana and her co-worker/friend Kayle have shown an interest in learning bagua. I'm starting them on the pheonix style, which is a little awkward since I don't know much of it myself yet. Ah, the dangers of self-study. I don't think I'm doing too badly with learning the lion style and teaching it to Michael, but I guess we'll find out once we're finally able to make it to one of those classes. Phoenix style actually seems like a lot of fun, and in retrospect I should have started with either that or lion style instead of the dragon style. Oh well.

In any case, I'm looking forward to the future. I am NOT looking forward to the change in seasons, as to my Pennsylvania-bred senses this past summer was pathetic and way too short besides. This kitty does not like winter, oh no. Looking forward to a visit from Mike in mid-September. He should be arriving late on the 14th (or early on the 15th). Should be fun.
