Has any pondered why a state has not sued or asked the federal government to bailout their citizens? It would seem that a states legislator who is to protect the state and civilian interest would have stepped up to those in congress and senate to ask for a bailout plan for those who might need assistance. I am wondering why if this has happened why I have not heard about it. Why should the government bailout corporations who can slim-line their budgets to make up for the amount that they are asking for. Ford today said they really do not need the bailout but they are asking for it anyway to the tune of 8 billion dollars This amount could easily be divided among small state populations to help stimulate the states economy by either paying off mortgages and loans, which then can free up that money for individuals to better the their lives. The monies in question should not be spent on failing corporations that have already applied for corporate protection with the Federal Treasurer and trade departments. I am not sure what is going on here, but it doesn’t seem right.
Have we come to just take all this mess for face value which equals about zero in my ledger? I have applied for unemployment. It’s not very much but it will do for right now. I am steadily searching for employment that fits my talents. I am also looking for any kind of work that will not put me out on the streets. If I have to stream-line or slim-line my own budget why can’t these big bully corporate self absorbed executives do the same? Are they afraid that they will not get their month vacation to their summer homes on “Billionaire’s Fantasy Island” with Ricardo Montalban? Because I know I cannot go to the store without budgeting for the cost of maintenance and gas. I cannot go to Ingles with Homer Simpson. Is that right? Do I need to worry that much about a dime? Or better yet five dollars?
I am concerned for not only my future but for my follow citizens. I know the wedge between the poor and rich is huge. Where are those politicians that claim to be for the people but they are only concerned for their people; those who have big houses and security. These are the same people who claim they are broke also. What is broke to one who has money? Answer: idiom. That’s all. However, the word broke in my book is not just a saying, I mean it. I’m broke.
My question is: how much more are we going to take from these politicians before they open the coffer for us? It’s our money that we have given them “voluntarily” to do what they will with it. It is also there for us when we need it. But where is it? I am assuming its lined pockets of the undeserving.
“Everybody knows that the dice are loaded
Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
Everybody knows that the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the fight was fixed
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
Thats how it goes
Everybody knows” - Leonard Cohen
