Shadow Truth

Today I did a "Shadow Truth" tarot spread. This spread provides insight into your attitudes and hidden feelings. Today's reading is shockingly accurate in explaining my current feelings/situation. Now I need to to figure out the labyrinthine path from point A to point B. I've been carrying a lot of emotional weight on my shoulders lately as the last couple of months have really shown me what kind of person I am-- and it's not someone I want to be. I've never felt more disappointed in myself (or shocked by such a sudden realization). I feel like there are several very fundamental things wrong with me and there are years of integrity and habits to catch up on, right NOW. Anyhoo, here's the spread (I think number 5 is a bit too Freudian if you catch my drift):

1.) The card in the center represents the attitude you assume. Eight of Pentacles (Prudence), when reversed: Undue attention to small details at the expense of the big picture. Losing yourself in your work, to the detriment of your personal and spiritual life. Making the same mistake repeatedly. Refusing to learn new crafts or skills.

2.) The card to the right represents the thoughts and feelings that underly your attitudes. Knight of Pentacles, when reversed: The essence of earth behaving as fire, such as molten magma: One slow to action, even in the most urgent circumstances. A force of nature that cannot be diverted from the wrong path. The voice of duty and honor utterly divorced from reality. Lack of imagination and the complete unwillingness to try a different approach, even if the face of complete failure. Idleness and stagnation.

3.) The card at the top represents how your attitude is evolving and will evolve in the future. Two of Wands (Dominion): Established power and influence over others. Setting goals and a vision for the future. Coming to grips with the impact of past decisions, considering the current state of affairs, and developing a plan of action. Responsible leadership.

4.) The card to the left represents how others perceive your attitude. Four of Wands (Completion), when reversed: Squandering a great and hard won victory through decadence and laziness. Failing to reward those truly responsible for an achievement. Using past accomplishments as an excuse to ignore current problems. Abandoning the very qualities that brought about initial success.

5.) The card at the bottom represents what you cannot confront or are hiding from yourself. The Emperor: Worldly authority and power. Social mastery and oratory. One who is intelligent, experienced, confident and reasonable. A patriarch or primary male influence. The motive force of politics and society. The ability to fulfill plans and use mental control over the emotions.
