Just some randomness because I was bored and hungry xD
My top 10 favorite movies of all time are:
10. The Godfather parts I & II
Truly a masterpiece made by Frank Coppola. Al Pacino's and Robert De Niro's role in part two were so powerful, it can't even be described in words.
9 . In the name of the father
I think this movie features one of Daniel-Day Lewis's best performance ever. The storyline is wonderful. Pete Poslethwaite who played Dan-Day's father was so powerful on his performance in this movie
8 . The Last Samurai
Tom Cruise's best performance/movie ever. Period.
7 . Downfall or Der Untergang
I think it's the most realistically made movie about Hitler's and the Third Reich's downfall. It's also a very bold and daring movie. And Bruno Ganz deserved an Oscar for his role here.
6 . The Sixth Sense
M. Night Shamalayan's greates movie ever. The plot twist in the end was so great and original. I don't think anyone can pull this off except Shamalayan
5 . Stand by Me
I actually like the book better than the movie. But the movie still did the book justice, IMHO
4 . The Shawshank Redemption
The book was powerful. The movie was more powerful than the book. The script was amazing. Tim Robins should've won the Oscar that year. One of the greatest movies about redemption I've ever watched.
3 . The Green Mile
Frank Drabont had displayed his talent as both a director and a screenwriter in his previous work, which was Shawshank Redemption. This movie is three hours long, but it doesn't feel like it (unless you have ADD) and I cried like I've never cried before in my life. A powerful story about redemption, friendship, and humanity. Both Tom Hanks and Michael Clarke Duncan delivered an academy award performances in this movie. This movie is similiar to the book, if not more wonderful than the book.
Michael Clarke Duncan's character's quote towards the end of the movie: "People hurt the ones they love. That's how it is all around the world." Made an impact on me everytime.
2 . The Lord of The Rings Trilogy
Words can not describe how greatful I feel towards Peter Jackson to have made this movie.
1 . Schindler's List
I think it's Spielberg's greatest achievement, IMHO. Even more so than Saving Private Ryan.Kudos to Liam Neeson, Ben Kingsley, and Ralph Fiennes who made the movie an even more wonderful movie to watch. It made me cry a lot too, like The Green Mile
Agree? Disagree? Thoughts? What do you guys think? ;]
