Today was my first bad day at work. I always anticipate them when I start a new job. Usually these dreaded milestones are full of mistakes, embarassments or embarassing mistakes that occur in the view of the last audience on earth I want them to see. The lines of welfare milkers, mental health cases and hobo-stinking hobos were consistantly triple-wrapped around the rope throughout the day. I can handle massive lines. I can deal with akward retards. I can deflect irrate customers. I just can't do it while I am constantly fumbling over the keyboard, having mistakes pointed out by customers and repeating the phrase, "one moment while I get some help."

One highlight of the day Donnica: a petite Kent Valley girl who is no older than me and is going to school for massage therapy. Massage therapy? Hot, hot, hot. When she stepped through the door, I made it a point to establish more-than-cordial eye contact. She was quite receptive. After twenty-some minutes of standing in line, I greeted her with an enormous smile and began to help her out with a bus pass. We exchanged conversation on her tounge ring (which I mentioned can be viewed as a talent: )  ), the human body and massage therapy (which she mentioned can be a 'sensual art') and how it would be nice for her to swing by more often (which she agreed).

Kudos, Reyes, for tapping into your mustard seed of self confidence. It was like freshman homework-long overdue.

I ought to turn in.
