I'm 2 for 2 with series finales this year: The O.C. and Gilmore Girls both had satisfying (if predictable) endings, and both made me cry. And I really don't cry at TV very often.
You know what won't be making me cry? The series finale of Veronica Mars next week. Because I won't be watching it. And that's the saddest thing of all.

I will be watching the Veronica Mars finale...probably.
Just to see it through and say goodbye. After all, it was pretty much my first fandom. (But I long ago made the decision that, in my own little world, the "real" show ended in Season One, and everything since then has been some sort of noncannonical AU.)
But apparently my subconscious has already made peace with this. Because it's been severing ties FOR me.
For example, last week? I had an event from 7-10pm on Tuesday and except for one thought of "oh, I'll have to tape my Tuesday night tv" I COMPLETELY forgot about it until about 20 til 8pm when I was already there. Oops.
Then, last night, I was once again going to be busy so I set my VCR earlier in the day. HOWEVER, it has apparently been so long since I've bothered to record Veronica Mars that I was acting on out-dated muscle memory and set it to Channel 43 (the former UPN) instead of Channel 34 (former WB/current CW)
So, I wound up recording the second half of some government conspiracy movie starring a floppy-haired Keanu Reaves.
And...I didn't even really care.
Which is sad.
