I’ve had a lot of trouble articulating how I feel about this season so far, so I’ve been reluctant to write up my thoughts, except when I’m promoting
Lamb for Mayor. But this episode bothered me so much, I had to write it all down.
What bugs me is that it had the potential to be really good, but the writers are just lazy. They wasted a good idea.

I feel that watching the show beyond the surface elements is just plain difficult to do. I hate that you can actually tell by the dialogue and events in the episodes that a group of middle-aged men is writing this show. When a show is actually written well you shouldn't be able to tell if the writers are male or female, what their race or religion is, or whatever. The thing that bugged the HELL out of me is a comment Keith made. Keith is supposed to be a pretty open-minded guy. He's never been portrayed as a chauvanist, he wants for his daughter every opportunity a guy would have and yet when she's dressed in her pants suit to go the the frat house, not only does she have a VO about wearing the pants suit, but Keith looks at her shoes and asks her when did she become a women's study major!!! How freaking insulting is that? Especially coming from Keith's mouth. I get that it was supposed to be a joke, but I didn't find it funny and don't think most women would. Again, middle-aged males writing the show thinking like middle-aged men yet targeting a young female audience, yeah *not* working.
