Character Name: Rylan
Character Age: 25
Character Suit and Rank: Clubs, 6
Short Physical Description: 6'3 with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes, Rylan has a muscular build. A boyish look to his face, it adds to his charm when he attempts to puppy-eyes his way out of any trouble he and others may have gotten into.
Character Personality: Rylan is an affable enough guy in his off-time. He enjoys a good joke and likes to pal around with his cohorts-in-crime. That being said, once it's time for him to focus on his duties, he does so to an almost painful degree. Loyalty is something that he was immersed in from birth, his parents both belonging to the Club suit. The demise of his king had him wearing a mantle of guilt, one he refused to let interfere with his current duties. It's only increased his need to ensure nothing happens to his queen.
The guilt and ingrained sense of duty has combined to cause Rylan to sleepwalk. Often. He'll go over his 'route' in his sleep, the gnawing need to make sure that all is well and as it should be being taken over by his subconscious. Because of that, he's become almost hyper-aware of any threats while he's awake, his subconsious constantly working to eliminate anything that could cause harm to his monarch, his suit or his friends and family.
As a point of reference towards his character, Rylan has won two challenges with breakdancing, one with hand to hand combat (resulting in a non-lethal win), and one -his first one- in an obstacle course race. While he'd prefer to talk or joke his way out of a situation, that doesn't mean that if push comes to shove, he won't be willing and able to resort to force.
Character History: Born into the Deck, Rylan's parents were both mid-level Clubs; his mother a five and his father a seven. Growing up, he learned combat and training from his father, who was part of the royal guard. So it made nothing but sense for him to follow in his footsteps, training and rising through the ranks to join the guard. The death of the king was a devestating blow throughout the entire suit, causing Rylan to desist in rising through the ranks; needing to focus his efforts on finding the assassin and bringing them to justice before he felt he could push himself further.
He ran around with the usual suspects growing up, though he's kept his relations to 'just friends' wtih everyone in-Deck. He's seen the fallout that can happen to an entire suit when an in-Deck relationship falls to pieces. The Clubs, and the Deck, has his loyalty, but his affections are limited to a few one-night affairs he's had on the Outside. His sense of duty runs far too deep for him to split his attentions, so, for now, he's content to limit himself to those few moments in the Outside. Which isn't to say that he doesn't enjoy teasing those in-Deck; teasing is as far as he'll go, though. He has an unspoken 'no-touchy' rule regarding Deck-mates - which has been broken exactly three times, and all while on the Outside and under the influences of far, far too much alcohol.
