One Day in the Life...

Author Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn died yesterday, the author of One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, which many of us read in High School.

Thinking back on the book, it's amazing to me that someone who went through such hell in real life was able not only to write about it, but to also live to the age of 89, into the era when Gulags were no longer possible, the era where Communism is truly on the decline.

I suggest reading the book, or if you have already done so, reflecting upon it.
