hair of the dog
the hair of the dog dock sale is one of my favorite events each year, and this year solidified it to be one of my top beer events ever.
outfcheeseerror and i woke extra early to make sure we made it there in time to buy some cherry adam from the wood. my compulsive on-time-ness got us there at 7:35 or so, plenty of time to be behind about 30 other people in line. alan was providing breakfast, but we had stopped on our way to pick up a modicum of food. nixzusehen joined us in line around 8:45 or so, helping to kill time.
there was a beer sharing event happening, so i grabbed a bottle of jw lees harvest ale (2005) and peche mortel, and plopped them down on the table. they were in good company, as i managed to have tastes of beers that i never thought i'd be able to procure in my lifetime. i was truly in beer heaven.
alas, i was not lucky enough to be able to purchase a bottle of dave, but i did score a free hair of the dog t-shirt (which i'm sporting today at the office). i walked away with a case of cherry adam from the wood, and a six pack of this year's fred from the wood.
cellar count right now is 84 bottles. and for newday, 24 of them are on the wall.
