SARASOTA WEEK #3

Sep 23, 2006 12:21

Well, we just lost two more interns yesterday. Admittingly, they had a death in the family, but they could've come back after the funeral. Nope, instead they seem to have up and quit and moved everything out. Which in a way is fine, they were irritating. (Though I am sorry for their loss.) That's three interns in three weeks. Fifteen to go! (My Stage Management partner seems to be cracking as well.) In happier news, I've assembled a cast to perform "Laughing Wild" by Christopher Durang. The problem is finding time to rehearse when we're not all dead tired from the actual season. But it's a start towards artistic/creative ANYTHING...
I've been losing my mind this week getting things ready for the show I have to stage manage starting MONDAY. I've only got today to finish it. I still need to email a lot of different department heads and most importantly finish spiking the floor...which is hard to do when the ground plans are about three inches off on EVERY measurement. In fact, the TD, production intern, Production Manager and I all have DIFFERENT ground plans. Hurray!
If anyone has any urge to do something creative this summer let me know, because unless they offer me a pay raise to stay for the summer festival I am out of here at the end of the season.
