Checking in from Sarasota

So, for those of you who may have been curious, I am alive. Better than that, I am alive AND well.
Beat that trauma survivors!

This is quite posibly the most boring job in existence. That's right, folks, Stage Managing registers right along next to DMV worker in my list of jobs. Occasionally there are interesting things to do, I'm having to take technical notes for every aspect of tech for the show I'm working on. And I suppose it's mildly fun to figure out how many costume changes could conceivably happen in a show, etc. Not really.
Also, because we are lowly interns and the stage manager is Equity, we get the fun jobs, like dusting the ceilings for three hours.
Speaking of lowly interns, apparently the turnover rate here is pretty high. Usually a lot end up quiting from frustation at the work load. But if you actually make it through the year and they like you, they'll hire you back at a slightly better position. Unless they offer me DIRECTING work, I'm probably out of here after this year.
Cool people though, there's 19 interns and I live downstairs from the only 2 who returned from last year's crop.

Sarasota is the Malibu of Florida. Everyone has a lot of money, and everyone seems to flaunt it. Laguna Beach walks by me every day.

Shoot me a line people, I need to hear from somebody.
