alright, so an update:

this last week at work I was put back on my old shift, 7-330 at building 977 for grounds work...which by the way, is fucking boring and tedious. there is no better definition of the work i do except...well, i guess fruitless is a good word. there is no way the grounds on this building can be kept in an acceptable manner with one person worrking 40 hours a week on it. last year i was in charge of a crew of 3, and still we couldn't keep it up. so pretty much my job is to weed out the beds and maintain the flowers' general health and appearance...i got so frustrated on friday that i chopped all the daffodils up..so those are gone. anyways, i spend about 8 hours completely alone, no music, no air conditioning, no company..just me and my cell phone, which, since i use it for most everything, runs out of juice once a week, and then i'm left with just me and my watch. it's horrid.

on friday i got really excited about seeing katiy that night, i mean...uhm, i don't know how to describe it, it was more than "sweet, i get to hang out with my friend" and not quite "i've got a date," it was sort of knowing that i was going to be doing something different and fun, escpecially in comparison to how monotonous and boring my days are. anyways, i wanted it go perfect, be fun..be a little more date like than me hanging out with mike. not "i'm going to seduce her" which, knowing how unaggressive i am, seems rather frivolous as a plan. so i spent the day getting all revved, thinking of this event, so i ended up remembering that she loves purple roses..and well, this sparked a memory of where there were some nearby work...so i cut some roses, pink and purple...i dunno what i was thinking, but i thought it would be nice, certainly pretty. what can i say, im romantic...an idiot for sure, but also a romantic.

anyways, i called her on my way up and she said she was at woodfield and would call me back later. as i reached schaumburg i called her again, see if she needed a ride..no answer. got to barrington, and sat around waiting for her to call...nothing. i find out shes just leaving around, oh, 9-930 ish, something like that, but she's going to go home grab what she needs, and head over. so i go to the store to get some cham. (i, however, had been drinking and watching tv for a good portion of time, seeing as i had nothing to do but wait) as i'm walking to the the check out line, she calls and tells me theres an emergency and she can't come. nice and malleable as always, also understanding, i say it's ok, and turn around and put the booze back and walk out...i go home and do nothing for a few hours, have another beer, play some online flash games, talk to becki for a bit as she describes that her and her boyfriend are doing shots and watching porn. approximately...i guess midnight, i finally feel too fucking miserable and go to bed, where i proceed to lay awake for about 6 hours feeling sorry for myself...(i later find out from katiy's journal that she went out anyways, after everything turned out ok...which makes me feel even worse now...for multiple reasons, not the least of which is that she's my only friend within reasonable distance up here. so if she can't come play, i don't have anything to do.) i wake up at about 10am tired as hell, and decide to..well, sit and stare for a bit. at about 3pm i call her to make sure that everything went ok, explaining that im calling midafternoon to make sure i didnt wake her up, sometimes emergencies take forever to resolve and then you get wiped and you need sleep. aww, im such a fucking nice guy.

anyways, after being bored for a few hours, i decide out of desperation that i'm going to drive the $2 tollway to josh's for an hour and 15 minutes. where i go to a graduation party for no one i knew, and drank a few beers, made some old people like me (as i usally do) and we left to go drop off my car, wherein we then drove in a 84 mustang convertible, which i was excited about seeing as i had never been in one before. being slightly idiotic fomr a few beers we listened to country and classic rock and sang real loud...all while i kept getting excited about there being no roof. anyways, we drove for about 45 minutes to some bar that was gigantic, bourbon st. in ...a town. anyways, there was a cover band that was terrible, a cover, and people that i had no idea who they were. yes, this is who i hung out with all night, and by that i mean i talked to my one friend that wasnt josh, and josh for a little bit until everyone went to play bags...being #5 in four person game i sat alone and drank for a bit, then i went and did a bunch of jagerbombs..6 to be accurate, and got a few beers..so i was a little sloshed. i then talked to the people i didnt know, made some jokes, almost fell over a few times, and started to fall asleep, so i closed my tab and suggested we leave...instead we go the dance floor (this place was like the size of the fieldhouse at bradley) where josh told me to dance, so i started techno-dancing to make fun of people, then got sidetracked to watch some girls do a little bump and grind, which made me happy.

then we left...me being several 10s of dollars poorer, my cell phone case broken, fairly drunk and ready to fall asleep.

which i did for most the ride home.

got back to bolingbrook, went to sleep, woke up at 10, found out josh's GP's were there, met them, awkwardly wandered away, woke up josh, took a shower, went to a family lunch...went and saw sahara, which was good, and drove around with the top down.

now i'm back here getting ready to drive back to chicago.

yeah, pretty much it was a shitty weekend that at best, wasnt as awkward as the rest of the time.

highlights were: seeing josho, drinking, convertible time, and movie with josh.

low points were: friday, saturday morning, now, tomorrow, tuesday, wednesday, thursday...and probably friday

it ain't so much funny...as it is numbing, a little down, but since theres nothing to look forward to any day, it just gets...lame.
