off to see the world

So I'm headed off to Wales tomorrow morning for a short stint working as a director's assistant for a small independent film that will most likely never get a US release. I'm okay with that because it's a chance to get out of Hollywood and explore somewhere I've never been and hey if there was ever a time to do it, now is it, I guess. I'll miss my cat (though he will not miss me).

I am thinking more and more of packing everything up and just heading to live at Earth Lodge in Guatemala for a couple of months, kind of to get away from it all. Lodging is like less than $5 a day sooooo it is looking more and more attractive the more I think about it. Free of distractions and lots of all you can eat avocado. Seems like a good deal.

In other news, I plan on entering NBC's Writers on the Verge program but looking at statistics for it and now I'm feeling uneasy. But it's a good chance for me to polish up my Castle spec and you know, maybe make that leap into screenwriting. Maybe.
