Back for another semester...

Live journal, how severly I have neglected you! I did make time for facebook and not you. For that, I am truly sorry. On the bright side, at least I didn't give in to the evil that is myspace lol.

Anywho, the Fall 2007 semester has long gone. This past semester was my toughest one yet but my best (college) semester academically. I busted my butt in all my classes, seeked helped in almost all of them (especially physics...I had a peer tutor for that class) and in the end reigned victorious.

I befriended some new people, continued great friendships and let go of the ones I didn't really need.

I learned to deal with the fact that yes, I will see my ex-boyfriend around the campus. His presence bothered me through most of the semester. Finally at the close of the semester I learned that it's not going to kill me to see him walking around the campus or dining in the cafeteria lol.

I grew as an artist and improved my graphic design skills (yay!).

I worked up the courage to inform one guy of my feelings towards him. The result was a noble rejection. In the end, I learned that hey, this guy's a jerk and I can do a lot better than him. I cared about him so much for a year. If he were to ask me out now, I would say no b/c honestly, I'm over him. Even so, I learned a lot from this fellow. He made me realized how courageous it was of me to admit my feelings to him. He also taught me not to be so nervous all the time. Also, I should be able to say anything I want to any guys. Why? Because what do I have to loose? If I haven't even built a relationship up yet, then nothing. Nothing to loose.

The other guy I liked...well, I didn't even bother. I realized he still wasn't over his ex-girlfriend and would get back together with her when she returned from Italy (and he did, too).

I FINALLY have experienced an annoying roomate lol. She's such a nice girl and such a talented artist, but she ALWAYS has friends over. I've talked to her about this twice. One more time bitch and you will meet the no-so-nice side of depppthinking (which doesn't come out too often).

I became the Editor of Sigma Alpha Iota at Edinboro. Fun but do I have the time for probably one of the easier offices? Not really. No officer positions for me senior year. I'll probably have four studios each semester senior year. There's NO WAY I'll have time for four studios and an officer position in SAI. Anywho, I'm excited for this semester with SAI. Fun times! Hopefully, a little that sticks with me this time.

I'm excited for all of my classes:

Principles of Typography (graphic design class)
Printmaking 1
Photography 1
Art/Arch. of England
Costume/Makeup Design or Public Speaking (it depends...as long as costume/makeup design has no sewing, I'll stick with it).

I'm REALLY excited for the visiting artists and the Graphic Design Exihibit @ the library for graphic design club as well.

Winter Break was SWEET. I think I'm the only person I know who DOESN'T want to return to Edinboro b/c I'm enjoying my break so much. I'm sure I'll be fine once I get there. I worked a lot, spent a lot of time with family and visited a few friends as well.

I hung out with Clara, Ann, Chris T., Anna, Steve, Lou, Dana and her fiance Brian. I watched Juno, Sweeney Todd, Enchanted, National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets and Dan In Real Life.

Best movies I saw in 2007:  Juno, Waitress, Sin City and Saved! (I know Sin City and Saved! aren't from 2007, but DVDs count, too)

Juno and Waitress were two independent films released into theaters. Funny how nowadays (for the most part), the only good movies these days are independent movies or foreign films.

I started the summer intership hunt and the graduate school hunt over break. FUN TIMES. So far, Michael Sahaida (a prominent advertising/editorial photographer) seems promising. I also applied to: Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, Suburban Living, Designing Home Lifestyles-Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, At Home with Jennifer and UBIC/UB Interactive.

Graduate schools I'm going to apply to this summer:

Penn State, Main Campus
Indiana University of Pennsylvania
Duquense University
California University of Pennsylvania
Carnegie Mellon University
Chatam College

This is what the future holds for deppthinking. Wish me luck.
