From VV's garden, I could see this tree which seemed to have

HOUSE SPARROWS

instead of leaves...






A common bird around San Diego is the

CALIFORNIA TOWHEE




I got what Mary Dueren of the St.Louis Audubon Society has provisionally id'd for me as the

CACTUS WREN

Update...Mary says this is the Bewick's Wren.

I saw this Hawk, and I am waiting for word on whether it's a Cooper's (more likely!) or a Sharp-shinned Hawk:
