That's my father, whom I loved very much. He studied Electrical Engineering at Benares Hindu University, after he lost his father at the age of 18; managing the funds somehow, on his own. (He once said that this changed him from an extrovert to an introvert.) He rose from the position of Assistant Engineer in the Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation (CESC) to become its first Indian Managing Director. Cut down the almost-royal perks and lived simply. Very generous, with a great sense of humour.Learnt Western classical violin in his 40's and Carnatic music in his 50's! He played cricket and tennis reasonably well. He was so very fond of my daughter...his only grandchild. I rarely talk about my parents as they belong to the past...but today the memory suddenly floated into my mind...and heart.
