***************

Temples have to be constructed according to very strict architectural rules, laid out long ago. This morning at Kanakapura Road, as we stopped for MCS (Mandatory Chai Stop!) on our way to Valley School, I noticed this temple building coming up. The temple will be for Sri Maramma Devi, announced a sign nearby.

Not a sitting duck, but a sitting raptor! This Honey Buzzard (so called because they raid honeybee hives) posed in the morning light for us.

A male Tickell's Blue flycatcher with a Praying Mantis. Obviously, the mantis didn't pray hard enough.

We sighted several Hair-crested (Spangled) Drongos today.

A flock of Small Minvets were a delight to watch.

MBK imparting information to the participants.

Brown Shrikes are winter visitors.

The Indian Coral Tree (Erythrina indica). This is Vasanta Ritu, when many trees bloom!

The beautiful blossoms of Gamhar (Gmelina arborea)

A male Indian Grey Hornbill with a berry in its mouth. We watched as, a little later, as it fed the gift to the female!

Tiny Grass Blue

Photographically pursuing the Black-naped Monarch

Unusual "cup-and-saucer" for filter coffee at Paakashala, Kanakapura Road:

Cat carrier (where the cat can look around, too!) on Outer Ring Road:

wildlife, colours, nature, photography, school, food, kanakapura road, birding, temples
