Morning walk, morning light
My morning walk from my daughter's home to mine, in terms of light and shadow:
The first light gilding the leaves at the top of the large tree as I exit the gate
The rays shining through the trees, providing a beautiful chiaroscuro
Little puddles gleaming in the sunshine
The shadow of a tree dappling the wall of a building
Light turning the sky from deep to light purple, then light to deep pink and orange
Sunshine brightening up the colours of everything
People walking in and out of light and shadow
Light falling in a warm benison on my shoulders as I walk
Shadows slowly forming and deepening as the sun goes up
The light and shadow making me realize that life, too, is like this...the light of hope and happiness contrasts with the darkness of sadness and despair.
