(no subject)
it's been a while. school and work are starting on tuesday...transitioning from a structure-less schedule of doing pretty much nothing to suddenly working and attending school will be strange. but i'm working at the tamiment (nyu's radical history/labor archives) and taking some interesting classes on urban environmentalism, colonial latin america, modern irish history and walt whitman and radical new york. i'm actually somewhat excited about going back to school. yesterday i helped a friend decorate and organize her classroom for her first grade class in the south bronx...all of the childrens books and pencil cases and rainbow borders almost made me want to become a teacher...but in the end, i have no patience for that sort of thing. also, i'm learning bass, block printing a lot, quitting caffeine for a while, having bike troubles (as i will continue to have for the rest of my life), sleeping on a bottom bunk, listening to the magnetic fields (weird!), and thinking about trading some mix tapes. and if you want a mix tape, i will probably gladly make one for you.
the future holds pickle- and craft-making dinner parties, maybe some soccer, maybe some four square, maybe some dollar bowling, cupcakes, and joe being back in town!!!
