see thats just odd, sometimes when cats are sick they pee and poop in random places. but it sounds like its a pre-umpted strike on the cats part. maybe she just pissed off for whatever reason. once they pee on something, they think they can do it again and again to.
perhaps you need to do some research on WHY cats do this. there are many reasons behind this kind of behaviour, and a responsible pet owner shouldn't just up and "get rid" of their pet because it starts doing something like this. would you go and "get rid" of your baby just because it started crying, or acting differently?
btw i know it wasn't YOU who wanted to get rid of the cat, but no one should be forcing you to either. It's such bad karma to just get rid of an animal when something goes a little awry, and you really owe it to that innocent creature to try and discover the root of the problem and fix it so they can be happy and have a good quality of life.
try asking around at some cat forums, and google as well, you should be able to find some answers there.
See I have presented that argument to him many times. He is really stubborn!! (Taurus)
I did do some more research after posting this ( because I have done some on the past but didn't really get a lot of answers other then "the cat is sick"). I was able to find this one website that said if a cats litter box is to small they will do it.
So I went out and bought her a giant litter box because she has had the same one since being a kitten. It seems to be working out pretty well. Also, I am more on ball with cleaning it. I cleaned it everyday before, but now it's like anytime she goes I clean it right afterwards.
Now I just have to find something good to remove the smell of cat urine >.>
