Heya,
mellowyellow821 reminded me to give my opinion on X-Men: The Last Stand. Bill and I saw it sometime last week at the MJR on Van Dyke. Bill says he hates that theater because the manager wouldn't do anything one time when Bill complained about some people talking behind him. But I made him go there since it is right behind Ruby Tuesday's..which we both love because of the good salads!
Anyway back to the movie...I liked it even though bad stuff happened to many of my favorite characters. The story was good and we got to see a lot of new mutants. I was semi-annoyed that all the evil mutants looked very goth and that Jubilee was some weird androgynous looking girl and bad to boot!(Edit: I was looking on Wikipedia and the character I thought was Jubilee is actually a mutant named Arclight.) Bill explained the story from the comic books a little bit to me and I think they translated it to a movie pretty well. The special effects were really good...there was a lot of them too with the different special powers of all the characters.
There is an extra bit after the credits so stay for that if you can, it gives an impression that there will be an X4. Bill did tell me they are planning on doing a prequel of Prof. X and Magneto using computer special effects to reverse age the actors (they did that in one of the scenes for X3...oh, yummy Patrick Stewart!) (yes I like bald men!)
