Ace had a habit of running his mouth off and that trait gets him in trouble more often than not. Those who know him well - or even just know of him had learned to pay it no mind, for his words weren't the things that mattered, since his actions were what counted. But this time...
"You've been spending a lot of time over at Luffy's..." Ace hadn't forgotten how welcoming his affectionately titled, "Uncle Shanks" was but he had forgotten how jealous this particular Emperor could get.
"You smell like that Red Hair's cheap rum, Ace. Better get goin' before..." It had been very, very good of Marco to warn him but it had been too late. A brief lecture later, he was sent on his way. Oyaji was very overprotective of his sons, especially when Red Hair was involved, another thing Marco had told him a little too late.
"Nii-chan..." Luffy didn't even need to say anything. The boy simply pouts at him - reproachful and happy to see him all at once. Ace smiles, says hello to everyone before heading off to someone else.
Vice Admiral Smoker doesn't even look up when he reaches his porthole. It had been a while since Ace had last visited, what with his frequent ship-hopping. But surely, his lover would be glad to see him! Turns out, he wasn't.
"Get out."
Ace was stuck, jumping from island to island until the offended parties got over this teeny, tiny misunderstanding.
Then it starts all over again.
