Morning Flisters
New challenge - I’ve already signed up for GYWO,
getyourwordsout and I still highly recommend you all check it out. However this morning I saw two post’s 1)
wolfshark’s meme and the 2) on
fancake (a rec community) their new round is for Epic fics 100k & over. Then I started to think on how little I read these days. In fact in the last few years it’s dropped off significantly. It was one thing to drop off of reading real books (my previous complaint when I started reading fanfic, but now I'm ashamed to say it’s dwindled down to nearly non-existent.
So I’m going to pick a 100k fic to read & try to rec out at the end of the month - however that’s not my true challenge. What I want is to increase and start reading again to find a balance between reading and writing - in fandom, but also my personal reading/journaling.
For the fandom side, I’d like your help- & this applies to anyone who drops in on my post =)
So here’s the deal: rec me one of your fics, a personal favorite that you’ve written. If it’s in a fandom and you’re not sure I follow the fandom please rec two, a back-up, one you know I’m into. If you know I’m not into any of your fandoms, but we share other fandoms that you don’t write in, please rec me one of your favorite reads.
If none of the above applies, then maybe rec a favorite book? Fiction or non-fiction (as of late I've been turning to self-help books, inspirational etc...)
I will do my best to read everything you guys rec throughout the coming year year.
On the personal rl side, the first book I’m tackling this year is, The Miracle Morning then the 2nd is, The Miracle Morning for Writers by Hal Elrod.
Anyhoo, now I'm off to go write for a pinch then maybe do some laundry (a pile that keeps getting larger the more I ignore it -sigh- )
ETA: So I still use semagic to post 95% of the time and use them to code everything- For Dreamwidth I know the code to show/display a LJ comm so it links back to LJ however I don't know the reverse. I tried with Fancake, it does change and link to the reader feed, but I wanted to link to DW's comm - How? Does someone know, can share? Also anyone know of a comm that shares explains how to code, link, etc on either LJ or DW? Thanks in Advance =)
