I miss LiveJournal ...
It seems like I'm not the only one who posts less and less on LJ. Mouse and Jamie are the only ones of my friends who still post consistently. I think many others, like bitofaspaz, have migrated to Twitter and Facebook. I think some who lurk and comment, like Francis and Rachel, have probably given up on ever getting new posts from me.
Twitter has no allure for me. I'm just not into "tweeting", in the same way that I have a cellphone but forget to turn it on for days at a time. I have a Facebook account, but I keep it to a minimum. As a teacher, I really need to be careful about any online content that has my name connected to it. My LJ has always been mostly for me and any friends who want to know what is going on in my head, and a lot of those thought processes are NOT appropriate for prospective employers or prudish parents.
I used to post a lot during the school day (lunch or preps), as the CCSD filter blocks all the "social" websites, but not LJ. Ironically, they also missed blocking a major Scanlation site (www.onemanga.com), so I've been able to read all 376 weekly manga episodes of "Bleach" while at school. Now I'm watching all the anime episodes online, but those are blocked by the filter. It's probably a good thing that GaiaOnline is blocked, or I'd get NOTHING done during my breaks.
Maybe after I get this updated I should go look for some new LJ friends ... *sigh*
