Uber and Lyft

So, I wanted to talk about Uber and Lyft. I'm a busy mom who can't really manage a regular work schedule, so I was driving for these rideshares to make a little extra money. The flexibility works great for me.

Uber has cut its rates to an extent that it is paying well below minimum wage after one figures in the driver's expenses. I looked at my Uber app, and see several drivers signed on, right now. I assume they haven't done the math or are truly desperate. Here is a pretty good post someone wrote up about it: http://www.reddit.com/r/uberdrivers/comments/2rvpld/why_im_through_with_uber_until_further_notice_and/

So, I'm not going to be driving for Uber any more. I'm going to stick with Lyft for now, as long as they don't do this same thing. If any of you are considering driving for either, I strongly advise against using Uber. And anybody who needs a ride, I'm hoping you will use Lyft instead. It does cost more than Uber, but it's still less than a taxi. If you do use Uber, please, please, PLEASE, bring a little cash and tip your driver. Uber claims tips are included in your fare. Their drivers are making less than minimum wage. Help them out.

Anybody willing to spread this around would be greatly appreciated.
