Wherein Rae has a new OTP (Merlin/Gwaine fanfiction chapter 3.04 only not really I kid I kid)
Well I have been waiting for this episode since forever! And I had high expectations and the expectations were met and then some! I've been waiting with bated breath for the gay pirate to come to town, and he did, and he and Merlin had moments like this:
Here's where I'm a bit confused yet have a conspiracy theory. Ok, so Arthur throws shit at Merlin and in this episode it wasn't very funny at all, right? Yet Merlin spends the whole ep having fangasms over Arthur (he should join LJ, we'd get on great). But there's this moment with Gwaine says something about treating servants well, as a subtle jibe at Arthur's treatment of Merlin, and Merlin makes this really odd face, like he's thinking about that, and he doesn't like the thought at all.
So why?
Well I reckon Arthur is being a bully (bet Bradley fuckin' loved that! not) but that we'll get some character development later on in the series. Perhaps we'll actually see him changed. Perhaps Gwen's Important Lectures of Doom and Gloom with finally get into his thick skull.
I quite liked Gwen there, when Gwaine was all like, HHeeeey have a flower it's tiny but beautiful! And Gwen's all like, Fuck off, mate, I'm an independent woman now sort of! Except then she had to go and do a speach~~~ about how great~~~ Arthur is and then I stopped liking. Stop making me confused, Gwen, I wanna like you ok?

I don't recall Merlin begging for Lancelot to stay, not like this. He's trying to convince Gwaine to stay by saying how great Arthur is, which probably isn't going to work, Merlin, you're a bit daft.
