Hey, music lovers, can you rec me some songs by One Republic, Swedish House Mafia and Capital Cities? As electronic as possible! I don't feel like trawling youtube for the really good ones, but I have heard one song per each band and I wonder if they have any other good ones.

I went to see Pacific Rim last week. It was really cool! A very epic film, all those effects, and the characters were interesting, and those robots were awesome! And I was so happy that the male and female leads didn't kiss in the end XDDD I am thinking about going to see it again, I was so impressed.

The thing I liked best was probably the fact that the whole world was working together to save the world, there was not just this one American hero. And I liked how in the end they did manage to save the world. I know some people said that the happy ending felt forced, but there were so many deaths and so much destruction in the film that it would be completely depressing if the ending was also sad. And the theme song is so memorable!

I looked at some reviews on Tumblr, and of course there were some idiots who thought Mako was not a strong female character XDD I just can't with some people. Apparently listening to your parent and commanding officer is somehow a bad thing to do. Whatever, I thought Mako was a great character.

And the film got me thinking about Ultraman - in Ultraman series it doesn't seem as horrible and dangerous when giant monsters attack because the monsters are just people in styrofoam suits, they are not that realistic. However, if you think about it, it must have been pretty harsh for all those characters in the series to fight giant monsters and to constantly live on the edge and expect the next kaiju attack.

In anime news, right now my favourite in this season is Gin no Saji - about a city guy who decides to study agriculture and is in a loss among all other students who have been farmers for generations. It is a bit like Moyashimon, but without the supernatural element and somewhat more heart-warming.

And the best news out of them all: the cast for Daya no Ace has (partially) been announced. What with Yowamushi Pedal, second season of Kuroko no Basket and Daya no Ace, the autumn season will be insane XDDD

gin no saji, help?, films, tokusatsu, music: general, daiya no ace
