Today, I finished my second year in university. This calls for a celebration! So... MEME TIME :D

The LOVE-MY-ICONS-PLZTHX Meme

Fellow iconmakers! Don't you often make icons that you're really proud of, but don't think they get the appreciation they deserve? If so, this is the place to showcase a few of these little beauties. Basically ( Read more... )

Your icons make me wish I watched BSG :(
But seriously, wonderful batch! I love the delicate hues on your icons. I think 1,4,5 and 6 are really original. 10 is my fave!

Aww, that's sweet. Thank you ^_^

I don't think I do the original thing enough. I almost always end up liking it. Plus they're satisfying to make. :D

You should watch it. It's pretty good. But wait 7 months then rent the season one DVDs. We're one month into a 9 month hiatus. It's the hiatus you could concieve and give birth to a child in. @_0

Oh, you should! I love complex icons. There's so much more art involved. And I totally agree about the satisfaction they bring. It's fun to work with crazy colors or textures and end up with something strange but beautiful.

heh, I've heard about that. I also know that some people are already in extreme withdrawal. lol

Usually I do the artsy stuff when the sheer repeativeness that is coloring gets to me. I'm a very lazy person @_0

The withdrawal sucks so hard. That's why I'm trying to get myself in as much love as possible with Grey's Anatomy before the spoilers start to come out. I will crack if I'm not addicted to something else. Like a twig. Like a shakey, pathetic twig.

Yeah, that can be rather tedious. I guess I'm just really intrigued by those who dare to create something that's different than what's fashionable. I give major props to artists who try (ewww, I sound like a total snob!).

Sadly, I understand. And I am the same. The summer is going to be a real bitch omg. MUST.FIND.ENTERTAINMENT.

I wish I could do it more often. I was looking through my journal the other day and thinking how odd my occasional bursts of creativity are. There must be some sort of phycological reason for it. The people who can do it all the time amaze me. laura4lad is particularly interesting.

The hiatus(es?) these days are insane. I can't believe how much I used to fret about a three month hiatus. One year Voyager was a month late because of the Olympics and I thought I'd explode or something. DVDs for BSG s3 don't come out for another four months and I consider that a blessing.

I don't know about you, but I'm most creative when I'm supposed to be doing something A LOT more important, like write an essay or study for a final. That's when the Muse decides to drop by for a visit :/

I just took a look around her journal and wow, I am impressed!!

I think TV networks are trying to murder us. Don't they realize the emotional turmoil they put us through every single time? Meaaaan.

Now that you mention it going back to school would probably help my icons out a lot :) Just one more reason to do it...

hee ^_^ Thanks. I've been a little down on the job lately. I took a vacation about a month ago and getting back into it has taken a little time.

I really think I could handle not having a new episode every. single. week. And I think people are more involved with their shows than they were even five years ago. These breaks are murder. I'm just trying very hard not to think about BSG. I can feel the obcession shifting around in the back of my mind. If I give in I'll be a mess until 2008. Two. Thousand. And. Eight. That just ain't right.

What's your televised poison of choice, by the way?

lol, hey if it can motivate you, then why not?! ;)
Aww, I know I'm going to have it rough when I start school again in September. Wow, I don't even want to think about it.

I'm an easily distracted person, actually. It doesn't take much to divert my attention from one thing to another, so I think I'd be able to survive hiatuses too. However, I do sometimes get nostalgic and withdrawal kicks in. That's when it gets annoying.

I honestly don't know. I haven't been as involved with TV this year. But probably The Office. It was Alias before that. That show was like my baby. I loved it despite its many disappointments and I was always anxiously awaiting the next episode.

I wish I could jump from show to show easily. I find one thing and I latch on. It's really not fun.

I avoid message boards and forums but I still occasionally stumble across it. Only to retreat further into my fandom hole.

You're cool, do ya mind if I friend you?
