I got my iPod a few days ago. iPod Nano, that is. I freaking LUH-HUV this thing. Instant access to my Cat pictures! Just having all of your really good music in one place, playing in a random shuffle, makes it better and harder to get tired of. Like a custom-made radio station. And the sound is so good on this thing. I can't believe so much rich, big sound can come from such a tiny things. It holds like a thousand songs and pictures and can fit in that tiny little pocket that's inside your other pocket on your jeans. Not that I ever get to wear jeans, since I'm in the Army and deployed.

Deployment is like.. being at work all day every day. For a year. You get to sit down and watch tv and sleep during part of this work, but you're still on call. I wriggle into some civilian clothes every now and then just to feel like a human being again, but 99% of the time, I'm in uniform.

Work is going well. I've kind of entered "fuck it" mode, sadly. All that hard work from the past that doesn't matter now kind of puts you out of the mood to work hard. I still have a good work ethic, I think. I work hard. My work is high quality. I still impress people. But if I'm 2 minutes late for work? Eh, no biggie. And I complain a lot. But I've always complained a lot. I don't do it because I'm a whiner or a complainer.. I think I do it out of boredom. I do it to have something to talk about. Complaining about workplace bullshit is a great way to bond! Except.. like.. ya know, with your Fist Sergeant.

I've also had a "fuck it" period going on with my diet though, and that's not so good. I have a PT test coming up and it's almost time to go home! I can't really look sexy when I come home though.. I'll be bundled up. I'm going to be the kid who wears 5 pairs of sox (go White Sox!..ehem) and 2 pairs of pants and a long sleeve shirt and a sweater and a jacket and one of those big thermal I'm-going-mountain-climbing coats and a sock hat with a cap and a hood over it. And two pairs of gloves with those hot-hands things inside them. Yeah.. cause it's going to be COLD. And I'm kind of used to consistent triple-didget temperatures. I'm going to have the worst cold threshhold ever in an Irish person. The mornings are starting to get cold over here (and by cold I mean like 55 degrees) and I'm freezing.. while my NCO who is a big muscly guy (no fat layer like I have!) from Florida is fine with it.

See what I mean about the griping? Fun! Are you not entertained?

Okay, that's all for now.

To Cat: See baby, I can post!
