I was hoping my two-week hiatus would leave me with a head full of fic ideas, and it hasn't. Not one. And now I'm back at work I'm jonesing to write, but I'm stumped. Dammit.
Do you know, I actually spent nearly half an hour on the phone to my brother the other day, worrying about whether or not I would fall out of love with The Magnificent SevenI

It's weird, I was reading an article about how some people will only have One True Fandom, some people will only love one fandom at a time but will move from one to another over time, and some people are just constantly immersed in a million different fandoms. I always thought I was the last one, but a few months ago I realised I'm actually the second one. It's just that my fannish attention span is so short that it LOOKS like I have a lot of interests at once. But when I'm loving a show, I don't have ROOM for anything else. My max is 2 fandoms at once, anything more than that and I don't care enough. But as my fandoms can change weekly, it sort of seems as if I have a lot at once.
When I started goblinmarket_sw, I was terrified I'd lose interest in the fandom within a few weeks and the comm would just die. Fortunately, I've managed to retain my interest long enough, so I'm pretty proud of myself XD.
Anyway I'm not really sure where I'm going with this except that I totally understand how you feel. I guess you can't really control whether or not you fall out of love with it but I also believe things happen in their own time. Like, if you do eventually fall out of love, it will be when you're ready to, and it might not be forever. I don't miss SGA, not really, even though I have a lot of fond memories of it. I do miss having a One True Fandom a bit, but I'm sure I'll find another one eventually. In the mean time, the "ooooh shiny!" is enough to keep me occupied.
This is kind of a weird comparison (or, well, not really), but it's sort of like being in a relationship vs being able to flirt with whoever you want. There are advantages to both.

I'm exactly the same as you. I've never been a One True Fandom, my attention can't hold that long. I keep my fingers in lots of fandoms but I'm usually only ever obsessed with one at a time. And when I'm between obsessions an old one will tend to flare up for a while - it's as though I'm just not happy without that white-hot heat in my life. And I'm worried that my new love for Inception is shunting M7 to the side, however temporarily.
