Another book rec for you people out there. Honestly, I don't know - you wait around for ages to find a truly wonderful book to read, and then in quick sucession three come along in the space of a few months!
So yes, anyway, The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon has joined the ranks of Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell and The Time Traveler's Wife as one of my favourite reads of this year. I can't really say much more than that. If you like good, well-written books with memorable characters and a heart-wrenching plot, you'll like this.
