Oh my God. I'm stunned. As a fangirl, I feel completely ashamed of myself.
I've just had it pointed out to me by utopian_sky that Rupert Penry-Jones plays St John Rivers in the 1997 Hinds/Morton version of Jane Eyre. Which may not seem particularly shocking to most of you. But I love that movie. I love it. I've seen it so many times I can't tell you. I adore it. I swoon over it. I can quote literally the entire thing. When I'm bored or depressed I tend to put it on and just watch the Jane/Rochester scenes. It's my comfort blanket movie.
So bearing that love in mind, and remembering that I'm currently completely hooked on Spooks, tell me how is it is humanly possible that I failed to notice that Adam from Spooks plays St John Rivers? I mean, was it the hair? The smarminess? The fact that he wasn't Mr Rochester? How did I never notice it? Because now that I know I can't understand how I failed to notice! It's so obvious!
