Sounds like the opener to a bad joke, doesn't it?
I'm going on our Law School away day tomorrow. They do these kinds of things at the end of every academic year, sometimes it's the only opportunity to get all the staff in a room together - and usually they're dull as dishwasher, full of presentations and committees and workshops. But the Law School has had a few upheavals this year - new building, new Head, new staff - so this year the Head of Law has thrown the template out of the window and we're going on a proper team-building exercise. But not a boring one!
We're doing one of those
Escape Room adventures - they seem to be all the rage these days. It's a bit like the
Crystal Maze in some ways - your team is locked in a room, usually themed, and you have to solve riddles and puzzles and hidden tips and tricks in order to find your way out of the room in a set time. And my team is me, two lawyers, a coroner and a judge.
Anyone ever done of these Escape Rooms before? It sounds like great fun! Plus it's only in the morning but I've got the whole day off, so once it's over I'm going to potter about shopping in Nottingham and visit the
Nottingham Doughnut Co, who make (no lie) the best doughnuts I have ever tasted in my life.
