"The power of pain compels you!"

CANNOT WAIT. WANT.

I don't even care if it's shit. Well, no, I do care, I want it to be a success, because I want movie execs to finally get the message that movies for women don't have to all be weepies, musicals or rom-coms, and that women go see action movies and superhero movies and gangster movies...basically, women like the same movies men do, they'd just like the movie to actually acknowledge their existence in the audience instead of just catering to the men in it. So of course I don't want this to be shit, because if it flops the execs will go 'see, action movies for women don't work, we tried the gender-flip thing and it doesn't work, let's reboot something with men in it next time'. But apart from all that, just the fact that this movie exists makes me happy, regardless of who is in it or how good it is or isn't.

I can almost hear the fanboys whine from here... "you're ruining a classic, there's girls in my movie, Ghostbusters doesn't need women, waaaaaahhhhhhhh!"

Jeez, what it must be like to have a movie made that is deliberately not targeted at you, where all the main characters are members of the opposite sex, where the only representative of your sex is eye-candy... The pain, the suffering, the injustice... Oh, the humanity!
